Possum
Opossums or as most people call them Possums are important pests, They will prey on chickens and their eggs; they destroy field crops, they can be vectors of diseases due to their fleas, ticks, and mites and they can bite when cornered.
Ranging in size from 25 inches to 40 inches long, they can be 10 inches to 21 inches tall and weigh 4 to 14 pounds. They have a whitish face with white hairs on their body with blackish tips. Their snout is long and pinkish with large eyes. They have short legs with a long, semi-naked, prehensile tail.

They are marsupials and can mate anytime there is ovulation. The gestation period is 12 to 13 days. They can have 1 to 14 in a litter. Possums prefer to feed on insects, frogs, snakes, small mammals, earthworms, berries, corn, fish and garbage. They live in wooded areas in hollow logs and trees, under boulders or buildings or in structures from whence the forage each might for food.
